Brief

Alloy designed the EVIE mobile app to support a streetlight-based electric vehicle charging system. The app enables drivers to locate chargers, reserve a charging slot, start and stop charging sessions, and make payments through a single interface. The user experience was designed to match the simplicity and clarity of the EVIE hardware, ensuring drivers can charge vehicles in residential and public locations without friction.

Outcome: EV charging app UX and UI design with core booking, payment, and charger control flows defined and prepared for development and deployment.

EVIE combines street lighting with EV charging, cutting costs by using existing infrastructure. Its companion app lets users find chargers, monitor sessions, and get notifications - making charging simple and efficient. Scalable across the UK, EVIE delivers smart, convenient charging with reduced installation and maintenance, all controlled from your phone.

The charger’s interface displays your vehicles battery percentage, as well as the remaining charge time. The charging fee can be paid on the app, or directly via the charger.
